O' Wisdom
Confession of Wisdom
3 min read

O' Wisdom,
You clever friend, you ally of life, and wife of death. For you deliver me from the confines of my mind, the walls of this worldly slavery perish at your very breath, yet my body withers the longer i stand beside you.
For in your words, light extends into darkness and what once was, is no longer. The cracks in the foundation of reality are to be seen, yet they are magnificently portrayed as beauty and my eyes can never unsee them. The manner which you move is like a master painter, gracefully dragging the fine hairs of his brush to create perfection.
Yet in all your of your beauty, you do not move from this cell. By your side are the provisions of your excellence. you dine upon logic, you sip from the cup of reason. I beg for but a crumb, yearn for just one drop, yet you softly whisper of the cost of each. Still, my longing for sustenance ignores your concerns.
Your faint echos of vitality are hidden not in the confines of cup and plate you say, but in my breath. "Yes yes breathe into me!" I say foolishly, take whatever, but give me all that you hold within. Your lips hover amidst my ears, your whispers fill the crevices of my mind. Your voice like angelic hymns, flanked by beauty and joy.
How quickly the debt becomes due.
My vision blurs and I no longer see. My heart that was weighed down by the chains of my creation, fall, yet now it weighs twice as much. For the body is free, but my soul takes residence within my heart. How alive it feels, rushing like a soft breeze across the open prairies, yet i am utterly alone.
These debts, these paid dues, oh wisdom are to burdensome, yet i selfishly wish to never to return to what I was. How can I see beauty as you do, and wish to return to the dung piles of my previous self.
I walk the streets, like a poorly pilgrim begging not for gold and food, but companionship, for eyes that wish to see what you give me.
Oh how i can see clearly behind these foggy eyes. Yet man sees me and flees, for what blind man can truly see? What pilgrim could possess such treasure that could satisfy the vices of this world.
"Come sit with me" you say warmly, "in this dark cell I am your friend". Yet with every loving visit, my eyes grow more clouded, my heart more free yet burdened.
"Such is the debt" you whisper, "sit and feel loved or return again to the world, your isolation will not escape you.
Oh! how i cry, how can this debt be, how csn I feel so alive yet my body dies. Your skeletal hand brushes through my hair, "oh my child, the price i warned of is one of soul and spirit, not of coin and possession".
I sojourn the world, yet they can't see what my clouded eyes behold. They cant see the beauty of your painted strokes, only the extravagance of your brush.
I yell for out for them to see yet i am tossed aside, "a mad man!" they yell, "any brush can hold colors but hers is one of beauty". "Come! come!" I say excitedly, "let you become blind that you may see!"
Yet whips and taunts i recieve.
And so I return to you again, oh wisdom, to your darkened cell, yet your flames of beauty shine to this blind man's eyes. Time will pass, i will be alone, yet i may sit and rest here till time shall come to end. Alone, yet beautifully alive. Your skeletal hand now alive with sinew and flesh. Great joy it is to look and behold your true beauty.
Days bleed to weeks, weks to months, months to years, the darkness consumes the space around me, but my clouded eyes pay no head to it. for what was feared now has purpose. What can darkness instill that my blinded eyes may fear?
Time takes my body, but my sight begins to see beyond your lavender hood.
There a kingdom of light, and atop it a bloodied cross. How my blinded eyes shed tears of joy, how they have lost vision of all but this.
Oh wisdom, behold your master! oh wisdom, how radiant He is!.
Can you hear, O' Wisdom, the softness of His voice? This decaying body shivers, yet the soul within is healed, the great physician, how He comforts my soul. My body will suffer but a little while longer, yet amongst its relentless shivering, its self destruction, let my final gasp be to the declaring of this beautiful hope, the truth of all wisdom.to
